Uninor subscribers can win up to 1,000 minutes of free local calling everyday

8 Jul

Uninor has a game for its subscribers called ‘Ready…Set…Call’. The game allows Uninor customers to make calls and win as much as 1,000 free local minutes everyday.

While playing, subscribers will receive an SMS with three call-time slots. They will then be required to make a call instantly at the prescribed time. There are no restrictions on the number of attempts one can make. For eg: if a user gets an SMS with a call time of 1:00 pm, the first 10 customers who make a call right after 1:00 pm will win free minutes.

Since there are three time-slots and 10 instant callers will be chosen each time, there will be 30 winners everyday. The winning minutes will be credited to each winner’s account within 48 hours. Uninor subscribers can call 50001 (toll-free) to know the results for the day. Winners will be acknowledged via an SMS from Uninor. This unique gaming scheme is valid till July 26.

For instance if you’re near an ‘A’ location, on standby mode the phone screen will keep flashing the changing discounts that are available for ‘A’ location at that particular point of time. The discount rates will vary between 5 per cent and 60 per cent and the call rates would cost as low as 20 paisa depending upon the limit of discount the subscriber gets.

Plan Charges- Rs 48

Validity- 90 days

Local and STD call rates- 50p/min

“The discount rates will depend on the network traffic, if there is low congestion on Uninor’s network then the discounts might be high and if the network is already jam-packed, then users might probably get low discounts” said Rohit Chandra, executive vice president- operations, Uninor. For now, the Discount Plan has only been launched in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka but the company will soon roll over this plan in the remaining 5 circles.
