Nokia C7 gets its first preview, gets tagged as a stripped down N8

26 Aug

nokia-c7-reviewRussian cellphone-centric site Mobile Review’s infamous editor, Eldar Murtazin, strikes again! After pissing off Nokia by giving his more than two cents on the N8 even before Nokia could announce its flagship smartphone, Murtazin has now previewed the leaked-but-unannounced C7. His take? Well, it is identical to the N8 specs wise and would be more popular than the flagship as it would be about €100 cheaper. We are basically looking at an N8 in a plastic shell with an 8.0 MP camera and no HDMI TV-out. Hit the source link below for his detailed thoughts and many more shots of the phone.

Nokia C7 captured on film again, expected to retail at €300

19 Aug

It is not the first time that the Nokia C7 has found itself in ‘unauthorised’ hands but the more we look at it, the more we have started liking it. The C7 seems to have an all-metal E-series like finish. Think of it as a larger version of the E6 from the front (without the slide down keypad) and the E72 from the back. It houses an 8.0 MP camera with dual-LED flash and an nHD 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen. It runs Symbian^3, the same OS as the upcoming N8.

The pictures show a 3.5 mm audio jack on the top along with a microUSB port. Eldar Murtazin, the man from Mobile Review, who pissed Nokia off by posting his opinions and pictures of the N8 before it was announced claims that it will retail at €300 and will have 8 GB of internal memory. To be honest, we kinda agree with him when he says he likes the C7 more than the N8. However, what we cannot understand at the moment is Nokia’s logic of slotting this one in the C-series and not the N-series like the N8. Probably, Nokia will have an explanation about its naming schemes.

We believe that it won’t be long before Nokia officially announces the C7, lest they want to wait for someone to do a complete review before the announcement. Check out a couple of more pictures of the C7 below.
