Karbonn Mobiles launches a dedicated music phone, the K406

Karbonn Mobiles has launched the K406, a dual-SIM and a dedicated music phone. The phone offers Hi-Fi sound for both FM radio as well as MP3 playback. The phone offers 4 hours of talktime, 8 GB of expandable memory and other features like Bluetooth, VGA camera, video player, mobile tracker, GPRS and of course, dedicated music keys for directly launching the music player. The Karbonn K406 is priced at Rs 2,590.

Spice Mobiles introduces India's first 3D phone – the View D – glasses "not required!"

Spice Mobiles has launched India’s first 3D phone, the Spice M-67 aka the View D, which allows users to view images, videos and the UI in 3D. No you won’t have to follow the same routine of wearing those tacky glasses just like you do while watching a 3D Television. Thanks to the auto-stereoscopic display of the the Spice View D that provides 3D experience without having to wear a headgear or glasses.



Other features include – 2.0 MP camera, FM radio, GPRS, MP3 player and an expandable slot that accommodates a 16 GB microSD card. In case if the phone is lost, a user can delete his/her confidential data by the ‘remote wipe’ feature that requires a user to send a unique SMS to the phone.



The Spice View D M-67 is darn cheap and is available for Rs 4,299 at all leading retail stores and Hotspot chains.

Tata Indicom and Fly Mobiles launch the CG588 QWERTY phone with GSM and CDMA connectivity

Tata Indicom has launched the Fly CG588 aka the X-LIFE on its network. The phone is a dual-SIM handset and runs a GSM connection and of course, Tata Indicom’s CDMA connection. The carrier will also offer a few voice and data benefits with a recharge of Rs 104 – 1GB of free data usage, 250 minutes of free on-net and off-net local calls and 250 free national messages.



The phone has a 2.2-inch TFT display and a QWERTY keypad. It also features Fly Buzz!, an app that allows a user to stay connected on multiple social networking platforms like Facebook, Google Talk, Yahoo!, MSN and Twitter. It also has a 1.3 MP camera, FM radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth and WAP browser for internet connectivity. Inbuilt memory is expandable up to 4GB and a  2GB microSD card will be bundled with it . The Fly CG588 is priced at Rs 4,795 and will be available at all Tata Indicom outlets.

LG launches 5 CDMA handsets in India

LG has launched 5 CDMA Open Market Handsets in India – the 6160, 6210, 6300, 6400 and 235. The LG 6160 and 6210 handsets sport multimedia features such as MP3 player, FM radio with recording, Bluetooth and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The memory is expandable up to 4 GB with a microSD card. While the 6160 supports Hindi language along with English, the 6210 has other features like panchang, EMI calculator and BMI (Body Mass Index). The 6160 is priced at Rs 2,649 and the 6210 at Rs 2,999.



The LG 6300 is a music phone with active sub-woofer and side-stereo speakers with incredible surround sound. It has 2.0 MP camera, MP3 player, wireless FM radio with recording and Bluetooth. This CDMA phone is available in the market for Rs 4,749.



The LG 6400 is also a multimedia handset with 1.3 MP camera with video recording, wireless FM radio with recording, 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth and expandable memory up to 4GB. The phone also offers upport for Hindi language along with English and is priced at Rs 4,425.



The LG 235 aka the Cookie Spark offers a 5.0 MP snapper, Wi-Fi connectivity and one touch access to SNS updates. This Cookie is priced at Rs 5,898. Just to remind you guys, LG had already launched the CDMA version of the LG 510 aka the Cookie Zip nearly 3 months ago. The LG Cookie Zip is available in the market for Rs 8,000.

Lava Mobiles launches KKT15, India's first phone with support for 12 regional languages

Lava Mobiles has launched the KKT15, India’s first phone with support for 12 regional languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Punjabi, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Urdu, Malayalam, Oriya and Assamese. This multi-lingual phone is meant for the masses and allows users from every nook and corner of the country to communicate in their own language.



Just like all other Lava handsets, this one is also a dual-SIM phone. It has a 1.8-inch TFT screen, FM radio with recording, mobile tracker, twin LED torch and VGA camera with video recording.



The Lava KKT15 also offers a talk-time of 10 hours with its 1800 mAh battery and is priced at Rs 2,899.

Nokia launches E5-00 in India for Rs 12,690

Nokia has launched its latest E-series device in India, the E5-00, for Rs 12,690. The smartphone, which replaces the E72, is based on the Symbian S60 third edition platform and sports a QWERTY keypad.



It has a 2.4 inch display, a 5.0 MP camera with LED flash and video recording at 15fps, 3.5 mm audio jack, FM radio and 256 MB of onboard memory. Of course there’s scope for memory upgradation with a 32 GB microSD card. 



Like any self-respecting E-series smartphone, it has an MS Office suite app that can handle MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint files. The phone will offer a talktime of approx 12 hours on 2G networks and 5.5 hours on 3G networks.

Intex launches IN2044 GEM, a low-priced basic dual-SIM phone

Intex Technologies has launched its latest dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) entry level phone, IN 2044 GEM, in India. The handset carries an MOP (Market Operating Price) of Rs 1,390.



The phone features a 1.7-inch coloured display, an audio player, video player, torch, FM radio with recording, saves up to 500 contacts in the phonebook, expandable memory up to 4 GB and provides a talk-time of 4.5 hours and 320 hours of standby time. It also has a unique feature of blacklisting up to 20 mobile or landline numbers.
