Tata Indicom and Fly Mobiles launch the CG588 QWERTY phone with GSM and CDMA connectivity

Tata Indicom has launched the Fly CG588 aka the X-LIFE on its network. The phone is a dual-SIM handset and runs a GSM connection and of course, Tata Indicom’s CDMA connection. The carrier will also offer a few voice and data benefits with a recharge of Rs 104 – 1GB of free data usage, 250 minutes of free on-net and off-net local calls and 250 free national messages.

The phone has a 2.2-inch TFT display and a QWERTY keypad. It also features Fly Buzz!, an app that allows a user to stay connected on multiple social networking platforms like Facebook, Google Talk, Yahoo!, MSN and Twitter. It also has a 1.3 MP camera, FM radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, Bluetooth and WAP browser for internet connectivity. Inbuilt memory is expandable up to 4GB and a  2GB microSD card will be bundled with it . The Fly CG588 is priced at Rs 4,795 and will be available at all Tata Indicom outlets.

Fly DS160 claims to provide 16 hours of talktime

Fly Mobile has launched the DS160 in India, a phone with 16 hours of talktime and 30 days of standby time. Priced at Rs 2,153, the DS160 has a massive 1800 mAh battery, which even smartphones do not provide.

Notable among its features is a VGA camera, FM radio with recording and FM alarm, call blacklisting and call reject with SMS, call background sound and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It even has a memory card slot that supports memory cards up to 8 GB. It has a phonebook that can store up to 1,000 contacts and users can take a backup of their phonebook on a memory card. Of course, like all other ‘made for India’ phones, it too is a dual-SIM phone.
