Eldar Murtazin and his band of merrymen have done it again! Not patient enough to give Sony Ericsson a chance to announce their upcoming XPERIA X10 successor, they have put up a detailed preview of the XPERIA X12 aka Anzu on Mobile Review.
According to them, the X12 will be launched in early-2011 and will run on Android 2.2. It will eventually be upgraded to Android 2.3 aka Gingerbreak later in the summer. While the X12 will be the X10’s successor with its 4.3-inch display and 12.0 MP shooter, they are not impressed by the overall product. The display is not at par with S-AMOLED and S-LCD displays found in most high-end smartphones these days. Also, it runs on Qualcomm’s MSM7230 chipset with a processor clocked at 800 MHz, while most of its competitors will be packing multi-core processors next year that can do real 1080p HD video recording.
The X12 would be just about at par with the current Samsung Galaxy S and the HTC Desire HD and won’t be able to compete with Samsung and HTC products of 2011. Seems like another case of a Sony Ericsson project getting delayed to us.
