Sony Ericsson announces the world's first 16.2MP camphone, to hit Japan in Q1

Sony Ericsson has announced the world’s first 16.2 MP camera phone with a CMOS censor, giving a major set back to all the 12.0 MP phones in the world. The Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot S006 will be launched in Japan on KDDI’s network early next spring. The phone appears rather fat with a thickness of 17mm, has a slider form factor, is water-resistant and runs on Sony Ericsson’s proprietary OS. Other specs include a 1 Ghz snapdragon processor, 3.3 inch WVGA touchscreen display, 700MB of inbuilt memory, expandable memory up to 16 GB, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.
