Breaking: Tata DoCoMo to roll-out 3G services on Diwali across 9 circles

11 Oct

This has just come in. Tata DoCoMo will be announcing its plans to launch 3G services in India tomorrow, making it the first private carrier to announce its plans. The services will go live on Diwali, which is on November 5. We are not sure about the tariff plans yet. The services will be offered in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh (West), Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh/Chattisgarh.

We are looking forward to see what kind of services Tata DoCoMo launches, considering the fact that NTT DoCoMo was the world’s first carrier to launch 3G services. Currently, all NTT DoCoMo subscribers in Japan use 3G and the carrier no longer operates a 2G/2.5G network.
