Nokia Listings app brings classifieds to cellphones in India

6 Aug

Nokia Beta Labs has introduced a new application called Nokia Listings. The app, which is currently in beta stage enables users to find classified listings to buy and sell goods, find services and even jobs. The app, which can be downloaded from Nokia Beta Labs has been optimised for Nokia’s S40 phones but can work on all Java-capable phones.

Nokia Listings automatically gets the user’s location and will display results for the user’s city only. It works on either GPRS or SMS, depending on service availability. Users will be able to respond to listings via either SMS or place a call directly from the app. Currently, Nokia Listings is available in India only.

I wonder if this will be successful. How will they compete with Craigslist?
