The Micromax W900 is a Nokia 5800 look-alike that runs WinMo

There is a blurry line that separates inspiration from blatant IP infringement and the Micromax W900 is treading that same line. Check out this W900 ‘Scrabble’ phone from the Indian handset vendor that is indistinguishable from the Nokia 5800 when its display is turned off. Turn it on and you will be greeted by Windows Mobile OS (version 6.1 not 6.5).



The Micromax W900 powered by an unknown K3 Hi3611 460 MHz processor and a 256MB ROM/128MB RAM combination. Other specs include a 2.0 MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS (with navigation software from MapMyIndia) and a motion sensor. We ain’t sure why someone would like to buy a smartphone with such dated specs.       The actual price is much higher, probably around Rs 8k.
