Samsung Galaxy S Froyo firmware leaked!

28 Jul

samsung-galaxy-s-android-2.2-leakSeems like someone out there has managed to hack into Samsung’s servers and pull out the first test firmware of Android 2.2 for the Galaxy S. The folks from Samsung-Firmware have announced that they will be releasing the in about 10 hours from now and Galaxy S users (non-carrier branded) will be able to flash their smartphones to get the latest OS version.

The 252 MB file will update the phone to baseband version I9000XXJP2. However, this is just a test firmware and things might go awry and might even result in your phone getting bricked which would render it as useful as a paperweight. So proceed at your own risk.

Hat tip to @kalpik for the headsup.
