Navteq incorporates the Lonely Planet Travel Guide to its maps

19 Jun

Navteq, the leading provider of location based data and navigation services has included Lonely Planet Travel Guide to its content portfolio. This new content from Lonely Planet will offer genuine recommendations to Navteq customers about where to stay, eat or spend their time.

The Lonely Planet Travel Guide includes Points of Interest in popular categories such as restaurants, hotels, pubs and tourist spots and all these categories will carry valuable information. For example: if a Navteq user in New Delhi searches for ‘Big Chill’, apart from letting the user know where it is exactly located, it will also provide information about the cuisine that is offered there and will accordingly rate the place.

The Lonely Planet Travel Guide is not yet included in the Navteq maps but we’re expecting it to happen sometime soon.
