Nokia to launch X3 and E52 in India this week

17 May

While we wait for Nokia to launch some of its new phones like the C6 and the E5, the Finnish handset vendor has decided that it is finally time to launch a couple of phones that it had announced almost a year ago. So our trusted sources on the street have asked us to gear up for the E52 (announced in May 2009) and the X3 (announced in September 2009).

The X3 is a music phone with a 3.5 mm audio jack, dedicated music keys and a 3.2 MP shooter. Nothing exceptional, though we have a hunch that it could be one of the first phones to be launched with Nokia’s Comes With Music (Ovi Music Unlimited) service in India. If so, then users will be able to download unlimted number of songs from Nokia’s music store for a year. The X3 is expected to retail at about Rs 7,500.

Nokia will also introduce the E52, the much-awaited successor to the E51, which has been a popular phone in India because of its exceptional battery backup and sleek metallic finish. Though a year late, we believe that many would still end up queing for it as the E51 had been discontinued almost a year back. However, a price tag hovering around Rs 13,000, might not please many.
