More details about Android 2.2 aka Froyo

15 May

As Google’s I/O 2010 event approaches closer, more details are finding their way to blogosphere about what Android 2.2 will be all about. TechCrunch has revealed exclusive screenshots of what essentially is a tethering option in Froyo that turns your phone into a Wi-Fi hotspot. Nothing mind boggling, but nevertheless, a good thing to have right out of the box. But it remains to be seen whether carriers will allow it to pass through. Thankfully, in India, we don’t have to bother about that stuff.

On our part, we can now confirm that Froyo will indeed have automatic app updates. Users will be able to set whether they would like to install updates automatically or select which updates should be installed.
