RCom unveils ‘unlimited calls’ tariff plan

6 May

Taking tariff wars a step further, RCom today announced a ‘Simply Unlimited’ tariff plan that would enable its CDMA subscribers to make “unlimited” calls by paying a fixed monthly rental. The plan is available for Rs 299 a month for unlimited local calls and Rs 599 a month for unlimited nation-wide calls. However, like all unbelievable offers, there is a catch. While all calls within RCom’s network are free, users can avail 30 minutes of calls a day to other networks for free and will have to shell out 50 paise per minute if they exceed their quota of 30 minutes a day. It would have been revolutionary had RCom offered 900 minutes a month and charged users after they exhausted those 900 minutes rather than limiting it to just 30 minutes a day.
