RIM shows off new BlackBerry OS, to be available next quarter

27 Apr

At Research In Motion’s (RIM) annual WES event, the BlackBerry handheld maker today showed off the new OS that will power some of the existing and all upcoming BlackBerry phones. The UI looks slick (compare the video below with that on the BlackBerry Storm for a perspective) and better integrates online social networks. We also like the new WebKit based browser (heck, any browser would be better than the one currently deployed). But again, we would like to wait for an actual device running the new OS in our hands. Enjoy the video and let us know what you think.

Well Sir, i am no expert but don’t you think the menu appearance , menu transition effects and all have already been used widely by many other handset vendors a few time earlier. Its just new for “RIM” but i think people are used to seeing such transitions and effects.
