11 Apr

Sure is a busy Sunday today! After Nokia and Microsoft making their webcast details public, it is now RIM’s turn to leak some info about their upcoming products by publishing their user agent profiles.

First up is the BlackBerry 9800, which, according to the profile, will be running on the upcoming BlackBerry OS 6.0 that will also feature the latest Webkit-based Internet browser. The profile mentions a QWERTY keyboard and some pics leaked earlier suggest that it will have a slider form-factor. What’s also interesting to note is that it will support Wi-Fi 802.11 n!

Next up is the BlackBerry 9105, which is expected to be the upgraded version of the Pearl 9100. It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 n. Some of its leaked pictures suggest that RIM will abandon SureType for a standard T9 keyboard.

Hurry, RIM, you are taking way too long to get the new OS and browser up and running. Apple got all of this going in 2007, Google got it done, Palm, that bankrupt company saved by take out Elevation Partner, got it done. Why in the heck are you RIM engineers taking you sweet old time in matching, if not surpassing the competition. What gives???
