Update: Samsung launches 3G version of Corby in India

24 Jan

Samsung has released a 3G version of its Corby phone in India. While there is no official press release or press picture at the moment, the Corby 3G looks quite similar to the original Corby phone albeit a few subtle changes like music shortcut keys below the touchscreen and metallic trimmings around the body rather than the ‘cheap’ plastic finish found on the original Corby. The Corby 3G has a market operative price of about Rs 10,500.

The Corby 3G also gets other welcome upgrades like a 3.5 mm audio jack, a 3.0 MP camera, Wi-Fi and 3.6 Mbps HSDPA connectivity. Now the only thing we are waiting for is the auction of 3G spectrum and the launch of 3G networks in the country…

UPDATE: The Corby 3G is the Samsung GT M5650, also known as Lindy in Europe.
