Gameloft tops 10 million paid downloads on 'the' App Store

6 Jan

Mobile game developer, Gameloft, today announced that it has topped 10 million paid downloads on Apple’s App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch. The developer has popular games like Asphalt 5, Real Soccer 2010, Assassin’s Creed and more recently, a game based on James Cameron’s Avatar.

This is yet another testimony of the App Store’s success after Apple announced yesterday that it had crossed 3 billion downloads in just about 18 months since its launch. The last billion downloads took just three months! It will only get increasingly difficult for other players to catch up with Apple in the apps race. They should now focus on web-based or even Flash-based apps to compete with the Apple.
