3G auctions in India likely to commence on February 12

The auction of spectrum for mobile phone companies to offer third-generation (3G) services is set to be delayed and is likely commence on February 12 instead of January 14. The entire auction process is now expected to be finished by March 5.
 
A notice inviting applicants (NIA) will be issued by January 10 which will depict the exact availability of 3G spectrum in each telecom circle and the government is expecting to raise around Rs 35,000 crore in the current fiscal from the auction. The govenment has been in the process of auctioning 3G spectrum since two years.
