Nokia 7210 Supernova is the only handset affected by faulty chargers in India, here's what you gotta do

Nokia India has announced that there is only one handset that has the faulty AC-3E charger. The charger replacement advisory is only applicable to consumers who have bought the Nokia 7210 Supernova phone after June 15, 2009.

If you have recently bought the 7210 Supernova phone in India, this is what you should do:

1. Look out for a 27 digit code printed on your charger.

2. Compose an SMS with CHG followed by a space and the 27 digit code of your charger. Send the SMS to 55555.

3. You will receive a reply SMS from Nokia informing you whether you need to get your charger replaced or not.

Starting November 10, consumers will also be able to get their chargers checked at Nokia Care centres and Nokia Priority dealers across the country. You can also get it verified online by visiting and a replacement charger will be sent by courier to your address.

We’d like to again remind our readers that the issue is related to only Nokia 7210 Supernova phones bought after June 15, 2009. Also, not all these phones come with a faulty charger. We’d also appreciate if you get your charger verified by sending a text message or doing it online rather than thronging to a Nokia Care or Nokia Priority Centre as you might encounter long lines and waiting period there. Do not panic as this is only a precautionary step taken by Nokia.
