Nokia revives the 5800 XM, rebrands it as 5800 Navigation Edition

21 Aug

Laying to rest all rumours about a Nokia 5900 with a metallic trimming around its display, Nokia today announced the 5800 Navigation Edition. In essence, it is the same 5800 XM with a bit of metallic trimming and a new version of Ovi Maps pre-installed on the device.

Set to launch in this quarter itself, the 5800 Navigation Edition will offer lifetime subscription to Nokia’s voice-guided navigation software. It is expected to be priced at Euro 285 before local subsidies and taxes.

We ain’t sure if a facelift would be enough for us to start liking this rehashed version of the 5800 XM. What we are really waiting for is the 5530 XM, Alas, it too runs on Symbian S60 fifth edition. Nevertheless, hit the break to see the 5800 Navigation edition in action.
